Red October Engagement

I took a walk with Katie and James on a sunny and warm evening in October.  And let me tell you, Red October is no joke!  As the sun went down, we were engulfed in warm reds, oranges, and yellows.  We ran to catch the sunset and landed out in the Sound.  Katie danced- and got James to dance too!  We laughed and got to know each other.  I can't wait for their wedding!  Enjoy this glimpse of our time together!

Project Light: Just as the Sun Went Down

We have come to our final set of photos in my collaboration with Fashion Blogger, Carolyn, from Hey Pretty Thing.  We climbed a windy ridge and trekked to an old train bridge.  As we braced ourselves against the forceful wind and held onto each other as we walked, we managed to snap a few photos!  Carolyn is wearing a beautiful Acne leather jacket that she picked up in Europe.  Paired with a cotton dress and booties, its a perfect fall outfit for these sunny days we have been enjoying.  Check out her website or Instagram for more details!  And, if you have missed our previous shoots, scroll back in my blog or her's for more beautiful shots.  Enjoy!

We out.

Project Light: Filtered and Spotty in the Afternoon

During the afternoon that I spent with fashion blogger, Carolyn, from heyprettything.com, I photographed her on a walk through brush, shrubbery, and long grass.  The light was filtered, spotty, and direct, in some instances.  We caught pockets of light and played with shadowing.  Check out Carolyn's blog for detailed outfit information as well as helpful fashion tips!

Lovely Hallak Family

What an amazing shoot this was!  It was lovely to see a family enjoy time together just doing what they do… fixing hair, reading books, wrestling, watering their plants, playing on the swing set, looking for bugs, and enjoying an evening walk.  We had lots of laughs, especially when ants invaded their space and made everyone do the boogie!  A couple tips for family clients from this shoot---> clothing matters when you are being photographed!  Be yourself and let your creativity come through.  Take the time to coordinate, but don't be overly matchy matchy.  Mom, go buy a shirt you love that you will enjoy looking at yourself in!  Also, choose an activity.  It doesn't have to be complicated: blow bubbles, have a watermelon picnic, eat ice cream.  Be conscious of the environment: choose locations that you will like to look at for years to come.  And above all, embrace the activity and chaos of children and HAVE FUN!!

Enjoy!! XOXO

Tim and Aubrey!

I had such a fun time shooting this engagement session!  It was goofy, romantic, refreshing, and authentic!  This is their love story, from their perspective:

We met at a Bible study that was held at Aubrey's sister’s house. It was a few weeks and a few casual conversations later that we ended up going on a hike together. During the hike we had great conversation and were surprisingly honest with each other. After another hike and a scoop or two of Blue Bird ice cream, the conversations got deeper and the attraction grew stronger. We got to know each other rather quickly, and it wasn't long after when we both made a commitment to be in a relationship. It was simply beautiful to be in a relationship so honest, loving, and passionate. As our love for one another grew we developed a unique understanding and trust. We truly believe that the Lord blessed us as a couple. We have already been through some tough challenges in life together, but have found support in each other like neither of us had before. We feel that our honesty towards each other and our faith in the Lord has developed our relationship into something amazing. We took the next step on March 22, 2015 when Tim proposed at our favorite restaurant. Since then there has been more love, support, and compassion. We are excited for the adventure of marriage, knowing it will be filled with joy.
